I leave Comedy Central on 24/7 mostly, wether as background music or whatever. And there's two commercials my ears pick up more then most: Girls Gone Wild, and Enzyte. Ignoring G.G.W, I want to simply ask all you guys about Smilin' Bob, mr. Male Enhancement. And I was listening to one commercial, where they were saying "buy 1 get 1 FREE!" which isn't new...But then I heard, "Call now, and you'll get this FREE T-Shirt, with Smilin' Bob's smilin' face right on it!!!"...  ...Of course, my curiosity takes the better of me. It's a light grey t-shirt, with 'Bob' right on it, smilin' and waving, and right beside Bob it reads: "Bob, is SWELLING with pride!".... My Evidence:  The question on my mind is... Who the hell would wear this...in public?!  One of the WORST marketing idea I could possibly think of  |

The sad thing is... I'm pretty sure alot of younger teens will order it just for the shirt because they think stuff like that is the cool thing to wear.

Yeah, I can see people doing that, As someone trying to do something funny. I know plenty of people who would do that. Hell, enzyte (if they were smart) would just put the thing in stores. That way the kids that would find it funny would just buy them instead of faking getting the product or praying their old man wants to make his "pride swell." It is actually a great marketing ploy.
But that's the capitalist in me talking, of which the Karl Marx in me has drilled the capitalist in me with lots of heavy books and a gunshot wound to the temple!
But besides the fact that I have a shiny new migraine, I'm also hung like a horse and have no need for their product. (Kidding by the way)

accually you passed on the whole girl gone wild crap but im curious on why in all hell girls and guys want to degrade themselves like that, or just exactly why is more then half of the world a complete whore? this has ben going on so much that its prolly going to wand up being acceptable eventually, i mean most girls i know i can easly consider a whore, in fact theres only a very selective few that i dont consider a whore, and 2 of those few people are on this board. so id seriously like to know how on earth someone could just degrade themselves like that just for "fun" and for 100000000 men and well some women to touch themselves to, has peoples "beauty" standerds really so high that they cant be dedicated to someone unless they are 100% perfect in looks? and is it all really about sex now a days? or am i really just tired of seeing those stupid commercials? will i ever find a stop to these questions?...guess so

About the Girls who have Gone Wild, money plays a role. And yes, being a whore helps, of course. The majority of people who would be interested in viewing that kind of garbage, I would say, would be male, and men would do just about anything to see a nice pair of jugs. Well, the "average" guy, the male version of the girl who would take a hundred bucks to lick her friends' cunts. I know pornography exists in a lot of other countries, but I seriously doubt it has climbed to this scale anywhere else.

Of course it's not as bad in other countries..You don't see "Girls Gone Wild: AFRICA!!!" and mosto of them deserve a T-Shirt more then others..
Personally I really don't care about porn..Turn you on? Alright, good for you. Maybe then you won't need the Enzyte..
Y'know what just came to mind? That Enzyte shirt is like that shirt you see black people wearing, and in big letters it says "IM BLACK!"

ok...it's funny in that stupid sort of way...but that's why everyone wear's those t-shirts with the sayings on them.. But still! There's a different between telling someone your ethnicity and teling them you can't get it up o.o you're easier to make fun of .. |

That's the problem, it's when everyone has that shirt that it's no longer funny. Think about this, what was your first reaction to someone that had a camo shirt on that had "Ha! Now you can't see me!" on it. It's the same thing.
I actually have wanted to make a couple of t-shirts for the longest time. One of which has a dotted line rectangle and inside says "Place Brand Name Here". Another one has those oval window stickers you see everywhere that goes with some tourist place (like OBX is the Outer Banks or OC as Ocean City.) In that place I'd put the letters RTD (random tourist destination.) Another that I would love to make would be like a really horrible intellectual joke, with a Latin translation of the phrase "I don't speak Latin."
Porn is more prevalent in other countries, especially in Europe it's more accepted. Most Britons don't get the idea of GGW because breasts are uncensored. But America isn't the same, and part of that is due in part not because of people who see it as objectifying (because it is) but mostly out of religious objections. Face it, this is not a society that has a problem with objectifying anything. We spend years of school turning ourselves into commodities for others to purchase, who in turn do the same thing for other people. It's called capitalism.
And porn isn't a recent phenomenon. We have found evidence from the Greeks and Romans, and even before them of images that seemingly have no point but to arouse.

About the T-shirts, the single funniest thing I ever saw in high-school must have been the shirt that said "You laugh because I'm different. I laugh because you're all the same." I thought it was good the first time I saw it, but then when 20 people wore it on the same day, it was even more funny because of the irony factor.
Did I mention the shirts for bands? A lot of kids that wear them don't listen to the bands they're for. Hell, I've even seen some kids with such shirts that don't even know what they're for!
But about the whole porn thing, that's a personal thing. If you want it, YOU WILL GO FIND IT. IT SHOULD NOT TRY TO FIND YOU. Its all over the internet, TV, movies, shirts, magazines, video games, playing cards, food packaging, etc... You get the point. It's everywhere, and it shouldn't be. I'm not saying I want to try and take it away from everyone; people will fight till the death for their rights and freedoms, and I can respect that, but if they can choose to see it, I should be able to choose to NOT see it.
