I like how Eidilon is class instead of race, DC really worked the kinks out of the class even though I haven't actually fought as one but I did make one.

Previously (or currently?), an Eidolon is born as an Eidolon. They are not human. They are a different race. In The After Chronicles, Eidolon is changed to a class, meaning that it is something someone becomes, much like a profession.
This is an area where we can't have the old Eidolon book and The After Chronicles in use at the same time. Their definitions of what an Eidolon is are different.
This doesn't mean one needs to be killed so the other can continue. It just means we need to decide which story we're going with because they conflict. To solve this problem, we first need to decide how one becomes a member of a class. Yes, there will be differences in this between each class, but we need some general way it is done. Does a character train as an apprentice? Does a character join some cult or religion?
I'm not accusing DC_D of being incomplete (or at least more incomplete than is reasonable), but we need to answer these questions before we can continue. I like the idea of classes, so let's get this stuff fixed!

Good point, Lucid I guess it falls on the Talespinner to decide As for how to become a class, maybe it can be a status thing in a society like a group of well respected individuals. It requires years to study to become a Eidilon.

I would say that to become a class you'd have to have the apprenticeship stage. You cant start being a professional.
Lurid, you are very right in that the eidolons do have two different deffinitions. The one thing that bothered me though, calling eidolons there own race, ( especially in a world with more than one race) is that no one else could try and be a defender of the planet.
Eidolons can only use magic because of their promise to the planet. So why would that ability be limited to one race. if a goliath see things the way an eidolon does, then he should be entitled to become one.
of course, there would have to be a right of passage from apprentice to master. But i don't see much rush with that detail mainly because that part of the story is normally skipped to when everyone is in their respected class.
we could also have it set up sort of how the defenders are, were they have to stand and take as many hits as possible before falling. this is not only a right of passage to becoming a defender, it also sets your social status amongst the goliaths.
in short however, this is a problem that needs tending to. and tend to it i shall.
