Well, without the religions book, then yes, having Greek/Roman god rip-offs will do fine, but these gods can co-exist with the Gods in the Religions book. It would be like a common religion everyone knows and respects to some extent. I'm not sure where you get that there's only one race that believes in the Gods created, because that'd be just...impossible. Take a religion like Hinduism. Yes, the majority of it's followers belong in India, but that doesn't mean they're ALL in India. You'll find pockets of followers scattered throughout the world. That's the feel I get with most of the religions we made up as well. While some religions may be in conflict with each other, that doesn't mean others wouldn't get along.
Here's another one from me since I didn't want to make just an off-topic post.
Name: Charm of Protection Book: Both Type: Necklace/Pendant Modifier: N/A Effect: If a character is hit for more damage than HP he/she has left, restore two hit points. (Note: System shock is not technically part of the rulebook. So if system shock is being used for the session in question, skip system shock; the character stays conscious).
Limit: THIS CAN ONLY BE USED ONCE. The charm must be recharged through acts of kindness and frequent prayers. (15 acts must be done; giving 1 gold to charity doesn't count, and neither does other minor acts of that nature. Acceptable acts include but are not limited to: protecting a town from bandits, donating food and water to a poor village, etc. Prayers must be offered at least once a day until the 15 acts of kindness are completed).
Myth: (Making the religion vague on purpose) A lone monk by the name of Geravis looked out the window of his abbey, upon his beloved town. He was the oldest monk in the church now, and he was growing more aware of this fact with every passing day. The new generation of monks clearly didn't share his ideals. They lied to the public and took their hard-earned money away for nothing. They mourned not for the losses of their brethren when they fell to diseases and violent means. Every night they fooled around with the local barmaids rather than offering their evening prayers.
Geravis wondered aloud to himself: is there nothing I can do? The Gods continue to bestow my fellow monks with their good graces, despite being as evil as the dark Gods themselves. Geravis continued to pray and do all that he could to help out the masses, and preserve the teachings of his church. In the next few weeks, Geravis found a strange charm under his pillow, accompanied by a message from the Gods to keep it on him at all times.
As a fire claimed the bodies of the sinful monks of the abbey, Geravis lied on the bed in his room, scared and confused. The flames licked at his body, but he felt no pain. He knew, at long last, the Gods were protecting him, half in part due to his kindness and reverence, and half to warn future monks of their fate should they defy the Gods.

First please check my older posts for updates...
Weapons: Name: Mystic Guitar of the Dead Book: TAC Stat: -0- -0- Effect: This instrument of destruction has no modifier and is not effected by a wpn skill. it is instead Modified by a proficency in stringed intruments just like a weapon would be it has two basic attacks: Sound Beam: Targets a single target and acts much like Lt pwn's sword of magi by dealing INT based damage range 5 squares Sound Wave: surronds the user in INT based damage pulse (spherical) for two squares in all directions (note damaged is halfed then soaked) please note that both attacks are "power chords" Necromancer only: can summon and control three skeletons of the legendary bandit group "Los Bandidos Sangriento" ("The Bloody Bandits" more on them later) can only maintain control through constant playing of the guitar (when in use the Sound attacks can't be used). Bandidos stats: Varies: starts as base 5 then add one point more to any stat for every point above that the summoners average is (ex: if a character has an average stat of 7 a total of two points can be given to the skeletons to disperse in any stat for two stats of 6 and four stats of 5 note: the skeletons do not have to be uniform). Legend: A long time ago in this very galaxy (on this planet in fact) there was a group of theifs and assasins known as The Sangriento Bandidos. Their leader was a beautiful woman who was an exceptional musician and charmed the fortunes out of many a rich man. Her name was Illianna. She lead her group of cut throats on a 15 year reign of terror. There wasn't a crime they didn't commit. They raped, killed, burned villages, kidnapped all ages, and pillaged from the good law abiding folk. Countless lawmen died tring to stop her then one day the leader of the group was captured because of a traitor in their ranks. Illianna was sentenced to death by hanging, with her last breath she cursed her followers that sold her out, binding their very souls to her own guitar so that they would never again have a will of their own, she swore to the people of Spyre that thanks to those traitors her power, and their nightmare, would never truly end. The Mystic Guitar of the Dead has only sufaced a few times since then and has resultantly faded into myth but the story lives on as a ghost story one that will prove all too real.....
Item: Name: "Adam Savages Ring of Reality" (name subject to change) Effect: "I reject your reality and substitue my own!" One time use only allow the holder to subvert a tale spinner decision once. changing the outcome, cause/effect, even enemies or loot or rule (temporarily) and can allow you to acomplish something even if you can't. Myth: This one is really just a gag if its to be included ill come up with something until then.... BLAH....
well TTFN: Ta Ta For Now (the wonderful thing about Theos.....)

They'd prolly be known as "Los Bandidos Sangriento"...just saying. (BTW folks, if anybody needs any help with Spanish, I'd be the person to go to. (Si necesitan ayudar con Espanol, soy la persona que le ayuda. lolz.)
Let's try to limit the amount of items that literally break the fourth wall here. And by that, I mean, let's not do that at all. There's several different items that you could create that doesn't instantly make a plea to the TS.
For instance, the Ankh of Resurrection, an item that MAY be able to save someone from the brink of death/death. A Charm of Strength, that can temporarily boost a certain stat so that the character can perform a feat he/she would not be able to do under normal circumstances. Things of that nature.
Please Please Please Please try to be creative, not god-like, when creating your items (although I can't say my examples are that horribly creative, are still powerful while still holds limits to them) Like I said before, a legendary item does not always have to be super-powerful.
For all I know, after saying this, the topic will fall dead again for another few weeks, whether it's out of a lack of ideas or interest in the topic.
PROVE ME WRONG, DAMMIT! I JUST WANT TO BE WRONG FOR ONCE!!!!

Thanks for the correction there CoF. I only took two years in high school and I failed that last one so thanks. Umm... right not that I don't agree with the whole fourth wall breaking items being non exsistant I would like to point out that (at least in the old versions) D&D there were items (or at least stories with items) that could allow the player to fuck with the "reality" and I use the term loosely, of the game. Adam Savage's Ring was really just a joke (one that's prolly a tad old). I had wathed that episode of mythbuster's recently and thought of that. In fact many of the fourth wall breaking stuff Ive seen has started as a joke or tribute of some kind, my ring, and Lt.Pwn's "Shanon's Ring of Knowing" for example are those. Now some of my weapons are on the brutally overpowered list (in fact I think they are the list right now), but as far as I know they don't actively break 4th wall. I'm getting off topic though, I think the items that break fourth wall should be included in the lists as possible loot from dungeons and such. Make them not easy to find, maybe even require you to figure out what they are before you can use them, and thats IF the talespinner even includes them in the loot. The legendary and magical items, creatures, and people are only there to add a little more depth and fun to a game. Anyway.... l8r

I can understand, that fourth wall items can be annoying to players and tS's alike. However, I do not see a problem with them being create, but like CoF said, keep in within reason. I was actually considering putting theos ring in the armoury. I do feel that to even the playing field a player should be able to mess with the talespinner as much as the talespinner messes with the players.... I say this because i think the only reason why D&D have dungeon masters is because they are people that try to make life as misurable as possible for there players.... so i think some items that can change the will of god him/herself would be that beacon for players to fight back with.
That all having been said, items that grant "MAX" stats or infinite power... sorry try a different role playing game.... but a ring of foresight that allows you to see upcoming events before they happen.... that is ok, even a talismen that can alter a TS's desicion isnt that bad, but once again i do have to agree with Cof when i say again ' keep it to a limit'.

Myth: A long time ago during a peaceful era in history there was a young Soldier named Marco Kaestner. He was just starting to become an officer when a giant black winged creature attacked to fort at which he was stationed. He was knocked out early in the fight and when he awoke the fort was destroyed and only him and a few soldiers remained. Since he was the highest ranking officer the other soldiers followed his command. He lead them back to the castle where he told the king of what had perspired at that fort. The king had appointed them as a special task force in charge of taking out that monster and they could do so by any means necessary. Five years later after many countless battles and near death expirences they finally had obtained sufficient information about the beast. It was an Elder Dragon who was following the orders of the Black Prophet Grenn. He was the ruler of a smaller island nation and was in the middle of a campaign for power. They had destroyed many villages and killed many inncoent people Marco was mortified knowing a ruler could be this cruel. Ater ten years of campaigning against him Marco felt as if nothing he did would be able to take down a beast with such power and ferocity that could make the planet bend to its will. During this time many other nations had their best crafters band together to make weapons strong enough to deal with the beast. The had made the now Legendary weapons known as Prelude and Requiem then entrusted the last of the kings wihes and bestowed them upon his champion Marco. With the awesome power of these weapons Marco finally brought peace to the nations and then became the next king of their unified front and until this day they are some of the only weapons known too be able to bring down the rare and powerful elder dragons.

Hi Im not dead just busy with life....stuff
"Samantha" Longsword/Katana Sentient Weapon +1Acc +3 Dam Special Power: Storm Slash - Deals addtional +5 Auto damage Can only be used once per day....NO EXCEPTIONS....I mean it Perilaxis XP
Lore: There was once a rumor of a legendary duo: X the master swordsman and Samantha his Contractor. This rumor tells of a battle with a fearsome Nercomancer whose name is forgotten.( So Im too lazy to think of a name.) This Nercomancer proclaimed himself to by sent by the gods as ruler over the lands. This tyrant ruled with an iron fist pushing the citizens to poverty and the land to slums. X and his lover Samantha challenged him for control over the lands. The battle was fierce as the two superpowers clashed in the halls of the Nerco's Castle. It seemed that the dark mage had the upper hand when X called upon the power of the heavens to strike him down. Storm clouds filled the castle as his katana sparked with lighting energy and he ran his sword through the dark mage. X had freed the land from the tyrant; however with his final breath Nerco launched a dark bolt from his hands which pierced the swordmaster's heart. Struck down X died before he even touched ground. Samantha watching her lover die....(Can contractors see in weapon form?) ah whatever... screamed silently in pain. The shock was so great that she was forever stuck in weapon form. Some say that Samantha is still in that very castle waiting for someone to free her from her eternal prison.
Sentient weapon means the sword has a mind of its own. Anyone who obtains the weapon and tries to do bad or ill deeds with it may find the weapon extremely heavy or may not even be able to draw the sword for the sword only wants to help those in need, not cause fear.
just an idea i had.

Name: Spear of the Heavens. Type: Spear Mod: Acc+3 Str+3 Special Attacks: Dragon Beam (more i say that name the more it seems kinda dated or something..GALATIC WINTER BLAST!..i dunno..) int+con=damage to all enemies in a 10 yard length, 10 yard radius in front of the end of the spear. Effect: The spear has a mind of it's own and normally only complys with someone within the Winter's bloodline. But as it's last owner disappeared and disabled the spell that bonded them. It has then dumbed down its expectations and will allow itself to be owned by anyone, but most people cannot unlock it's true power without fully earning it's trust. maybe....
myth: its long...............some other time..........

Name: The Codex Gigas (lat. lit. Big Book) Type: Spell book Mod: none Effect: The Ultimate book of spells and magery can hold any and every spell at any times, and when examined can yeild information (the explicitly detailed kind) on any subject. Legend: Though its exact origins remain shrouded in mystery there are few things that are indisputed in the facts of the book. The first is that it was written by a single scribe. the second was that it was at one time (and in some ways still is) the most extensive collection of knowledge in a single tome. Within its worn pages history of ages past are revealed. Languages long dead reappear. Math, Chemistry, Medicine, and Religion and other lore are extensively explored and described and in many cases illistrated. One legend tells that it was written in a single night, in which the author made a bargain with a demon to save his life from the hangman's noose. The book has a spirit of it's own and a devious and intelligent will. Kingdoms have destroyed each other to lay claim to this one book that seems to have continued adding to itself over time. It's current location is rumored to be in the Great Lost Library of Mao Shin Mao, but as no one can find either it is still speculation.

Here's one:
Name: Sword of Spyre Mod: +0 Acc +1 Dam Effect: An old rusty sword with 6 gem slots in the hilt
When picked up the sword absorbs 3 EP from the user permanently and one slot is filled with the crystal of the Race that the bearer currently is Ex.) Human = Human Crystal
Crystals: Rose Quartz = Human = Add 2 adv points to any skill Sapphire = Phidasans = Wielder gains Gills Topaz = Goliath = Weather Resist Amethyst = Shade = Night eyes Emerald = Ruroshou = Improved hearing Ruby = Herculian = Danger sense
Warning: what ever race the bearer is that crystal does not give them anything Ex. Phidasan does not gain gills, He already has them and humans don't gain more points
Each Crystal added adds one to Acc and Damage like Weapon Prof. (When all six crystals obtained +3Acc +3Dam)
To gain a crystal from another race: 1.) Bearer must kill a influential member of that race (ex. A lord or the king of Revolet) 2.) Ask that influential member to give up some of their Ether as an offering to the sword (Has everlasting effect on that member of that race)
ALSO: Other party members DO NOT count as influential members of that Race (regardless of Backstory) Lore: The actually creation of this sword is has been lost to time however it has appeared time and time again in Spyre's history. The sword has passed from bearer to bearer and those who have used this weapon have taken on traits from other races.
Two famous bearers: Lord Alexander of the Crystal sword used the sword to bring peace to the races of Spyre during The Burn: A war against demons that ripped a hole in the dimension using powerful dark magic.
Bloodmore the Wicked who used the sword to slay many leaders causing an age known as the Blood Age for the years of bloodshed and lawless structure.
Another rumor about the sword is that those who actually complete its creation are granted immortality although no ones knows if this is true.

Hey been some time since I ve posted here and I miss coming up with over powered items and weaponry that puts mere mortals in the same ranking as the gods so here I go again.....
Name: Finch's Bow Mods: Acc +4 Pull: 4 Effect: No minus to call shot Acc. Myth: "I'd feel alot better if you took the shot Atticus." These were the words spoken by a humble sheriff to a simple civilian before handing the bow and arrow over. Atticus Finch was the user that blessed the Bow with its amazing power to almost always hit its mark. Blessed it with his own blood. He had such amazing skill and marksmanship with a bow that he once shot the wings of a fly pinning it to a mans forehead at thirty-two paces leaving the insect still alive (the man died though after all one does not take an arrow through his head and live to tell about it). He died taking a shot at a beast whose only weak spot was it's eye. He made the shot and killed the beast unfourtunatly for Mr. Finch it didn't die quickly or gently. In pain and rage it trampled poor Atticus flat. Miraculously though the bow survied and now, it's wood stained red, is ever sought by those who seek to win meaningless archery tounaments to win fair lady's hand. The last know weilder was a woman by the name of Franchesca, who as far as anyone knows loved to play with a boy named William Teller. Sadly the both of them went missing. Though widly speculated as skullduggery and poppycock, they are believed to have been abducted the only clue was a bloddied apple and drag marks leading away from where they once played.
