Damn it, I'll have to actually read the documentation for the compiled help builder. I figured it would be more intuitive.
I'll figure it out and post a book maybe within the next couple of days. School just started up again and you never know when you're going to get a bunch of work dropped on you. Shouldn't be any time soon, but I've been playing a lot of Metal Gear Solid 2 lately as well...

// LuridSorcerer.DoublePost();
So, it finally occurred to me that I actually now know how to go about making a program like the one Perilaxis was talking about. It actually wouldn't be that hard, but I'd probably want to avoid using any Microsoft crap, which means I'd have to learn how to use the open source tools. Shouldn't be a problem, I'll just have to find the time. And figure out how to build the databases the program will use.

// LuridSorcerer.TriplePost(); I think I've got the look of the program nailed down. What do you guys think? Note: At the time of this writing, the program doesn't actually read any information from anywhere, so it's pretty useless. This is just to convey a idea of what it will look like.

I think this would make quick book referencing... a whole lot quicker.

nice work lurid. Any chance of being able to put the dice roller, NPC generator, and whatever other features/programs we might want/need in there? once we get it up and running would it be possible to have it so we could edit/add new things to "personalize" it so to speak? And on a final note may I suggest breaking down the different sujects we have (ex: intro, charater creation [divided down further into class and race for the After chronicals], game rules, combat, ect.) to make them easier to find.

Integrating the NPCGenerator and dice roller into it wouldn't be a problem, aside from all of the trouble I'm now having getting my development environment set up a an usable way. Accessing databases is giving me all sorts of trouble and I've wasted basically all of today getting my ass kicked by misconfigurations.
Personalization may not be impossible, but I'm not sure it's feasible. It'll go on the backburner until everything else is finally working, then I'll see what I can do.
Honestly I'm not sure I understand how you are suggesting it be further broken down. I think the categories will be small enough, but we'll see how it looks when it's finally working.

I think by further broken down... he means... istead of lookingat the whole catagory of character creation... you could quick reference a single class...

For those of you who think I'm a lazy procrastinator, you're right!
But as a side-note, I'd like to inform everyone that I'm working on this project again. The previous way I was trying to do it was quite infeasible and I've started over. Things are looking promising so far.
So for everyone who thought this project was pretty much dead and forgotten, I want to let you know that I'm balls-deep in C++ code getting this thing up and working.

Here's the "revamped" version of KalarsysCompendium. I'm saying it's still in Alpha, meaning it isn't anywhere near finished, is prone to crashing or other errors, etc. Download it here and give it a try. Included with it is a working copy of the Kalarsys 0.7.1 core book. There's a lot of work I want to do on it before I officially release it, but this preview gives you guys an idea of what I want to finish. Things that are incomplete are in red (which doesn't show up in the KCompendium, so open it with your web browser to see).
