I've been bored now that I'm between college and my first real job and I was thinking... "Shouldn't I be making a character for Zain's new Kalarsys thread instead of playing Secret of Mana?" Then I realized... "Why yes! I should find some other, more meaningful way to procrastinate!" And now, there is KDice3. It is built using wxWidgets, and I'm going to make an assumption that no one knows what that means. Essentially, take the old KDice and make it... well, an actual Windows program rather than something that runs in a command prompt. Expect small issues or missing features here and there. Let me know what you think and/or how it could be better. Encourage me enough and I might get around to doing an NPC Generator to match! (But you know me; don't hold your breath.) Click the screenshot to download it: (By the way, it exceeds the maximum file size of our kalarsys.cogia.net site and our kalarsys.exofire.net site likes to go down occasionally.)

it's a die roller! And, it works!
What I like is that I can access it offline now. Other than that, it's not really any different from the online die roller. It's got a cute interface. ^^

Someone suggested that you should be able to press enter after you enter a number and it should roll them. I'll post that here to remind myself and see if I can get that done.

What if I added "quick-roll" buttons, where, for dice amounts 1 through 10 you could just click a button to roll that amount. Of course, I'd keep the input box so larger amounts could be entered, but do you guys think that would be useful enough for me to invest time into putting it in?

While useful and saves some time, you still haven't worked on making it so that it rolls the die as soon as you press enter (rather than mousing over to "roll" or hitting enter twice). While we're on the path of ingenuity, perhaps instead we can enter in our stats at the beginning of a session into KDice and the hotkeys would then be STR, VIT, ACC, and so on rather than 1-10 (but as always, the input box would still be there). That way, for those of us that are forgetful, don't have to keep looking back at our character sheet every time we need to roll. If you wanted to be really neat about it, you could add things like DMG that factor in the sixes, or even give an opportunity to roll two stats together (say for instance we were asked to roll Willpower AND Concentration). This was thought of on the fly, so if it doesn't sound all that great of an idea, then ignore me. The 1-10 thing is a good idea and would suffice. XD

just to get some attention back on this.... The next instalment of the dice roller should I think have the ability to keep track of multiple rolls in one page Kinda like the internets tab system.... also I think hot keys for stats and at least a 1 (for those pesky odd or evens that come up) would be intensly useful for a TS and an enter key roll would save time.

I may or may not start over with it, bumping it up to KDice4 instead of KDice3.1. I realize that I didn't design it very well internally, but I haven't seen the code in a while so it's hard to say which way will be easier. The next instalment of the dice roller should I think have the ability to keep track of multiple rolls in one page Kinda like the internets tab system.... A roll history? Why didn't I think of that? Like buttons for rolling one die, two dice... etc. up to 10? I was thinking of doing that, actually (but too lazy/forgetful to do it). How about a separate "Fate Roll" button? You mean just pressing Enter while the cursor is in the input box to roll it? I've been wanting to do that, but didn't see an obvious way to do it. It shouldn't be hard, though. In the meantime you can hit Tab to move selection from the input box to the button and then hit Enter. Shift+Tab will move it back. It's not pretty, but it should work for now.
