Ok, Ltpwn is going off to college at the end of this week, good luck in all his classes hope you do well and all that jazz, and since learning of his departure (in the early parts of the year) I have tasked my self with finding a solid way to have him remain a part of the goings on (also if i could find such a way perhaps it would be easier to get everyone to be playing whether Core book or TAC). I had limited success. A new Video phone being marketed was my first idea, it worked well ran through the interwebz and could replace any landline anyway, however it was limiting because of cost (roughly $250 per phone plus a $50 or so monthly bill to go with it on top of paying for Internet to run the thing), also the lack of others curently owning said device was much too low to have it be truly economical, so while it had excellent call quality it really was lacking in just about every other area. Next Idea came in the form of chatrooms, we ourselves had one at one time and while we never used it we could use it for such. This was struck down because not all of us are very strong typers (I myself use a hunt-n-peck method) and in the end it would reduce the overall enjoyment of gameplay (for me at least).
So that brings us to the Now. My current idea is the Skype site. Those interested need only purchase a camera and mic (I think they have combos of those too). Perferably we would have DC and Lurid finish typing up the current editions getting them into a zip file that includes that niffty help/codex/search thing (both conditions being optional lacking any sort of pressure and including the offer of as much help as I can be) and if Lurid still has that online die roller. At the begining of each session the players make a word document copy of their Character (not hard even for me) or update it and email it over to the TS. Then we boot up Skype, our own copy of the rules and our c-sheet and the handy dandy online die roller and BAM! insta-kalarsys baby. Of course there will undoubtedly be some manner of glich or lag but I feel (since most of us that travel down to Angel's house have our laptops anyway) that this will work. Realisticly only the person TSing and then everyone not in his local would have to be online at all best case scenario only two people which should greatly reduce the risk of abysmal failure. And as far as I know Its free. Most of us have Facebook so we can post dates and times for play there. Plus if this does work out I think it may be possible to expand our network of players. If they can sit in the comfort of their own home and play with us or we could open up floor space for them (Think of how many people could be seated in a room if Fatman T wasn't there too!)
Well theres my bit Ill do a bit more research and get back with more info later. Perilaxis Out.
