....Ya, its hard to enjoy role playing whenever your in a battle situation with a creature that could shatter the continent with just its roar.... and one of you teammates post something like.
" I point the palm of my right hand at the fiend and with only a whisper of a few words summons what appears to be giant thorn vines that immediatly rap themselves arond the creature and with a burst of light instantly tear the creature to shruds as all becomes silent when peace is restored to the land."
Yes, and when they make it a run one sentence like that too....

Wow.... Now I would get 5,000,000 experience and get to level 86 with that trick...
Fuck 'em! assholes like that (and there are three types of people in this world...") don't understand the concept of roleplay, nor have learned to differenciate self from character. Everyone wants to best the biggest and best at everything else and to "lose" is seen as an insult. In a REAL RPG there is no such thing as winning, losing in maybe character death, but that is besides the point.
When I handle Druken Hammer, it isn't me... Obviously I don't have a 'slight' drinking problem or wound run full long into danger because there are thing I could make bleed and scream. Or when I do my pro wresling RPGs online with my Bryce Glacier character, he is an all business type... Obviously, that ain't me either...
If you can't seperate self from character, than you've missed the boat entirely.

Yeah-ha, you have to remember: Some people don't have a life. Roleplaying is all they have to hold onto, because their real life isn't cool enough (I say this only because I know it from experience, sadly enough. Wow those were the days...).
And I don't mean us losers, by the way, I know we don't have much of a life outside of RPG's and videogames (not to mention that we all plan at one point to make something out of our lives); I'm talking about the REAL losers out there. yeeup.
