That's right, a new NPCGen is out!! It takes some concepts from the new KDice2 and can even read the old NPCGEN4 name lists!
Hop on over to the Kalarsys Downloads page and have yourself a peek.
Also, if you encounter problems or want me to add features, post here and let me know.

Hey Lurid I've been playing with the program in an attempt to better understand it..... Is it supposed to start with stats of base 3? and also it seems like it distributes points in a random fashion no matter how many times I tell it to favor a certain category? to check for yourself use a 1 point distribution and pick Body a couple times quite often it gives me an INT of 4 but 3 in everthing else.

Yes, it starts with everything at 3, then randomly distributes the number of points you put in. If you tell it to favor a category, it'll be more likely to put points there, but it's no guarantee that every point will go there. If you put in really large amounts of points, you'll see that it really does favor them.

Didn't I include a readme in there? *checks* What the hell, I completely left that out!!
Yeah, it's supposed to work that way. All of the older ones did that and I guess I just forgot to include that in the readme. I'll probably toss that in there somewhere and update the zip file I have posted. (Well, if I get around to it and don't forget.)
By the way, I'm open to suggestions about the tools I've built. Generally, they're pretty simple, but if they work one way and should work some other way, just let me know.

.... I think it should be suggested that in an actual game the dice roller tool should be more for the use of the talespinner. Not saying that the event will happen but it became very clear to me one day that if you had four players, talespinner included, and they all had a computer/ laptop, it would become increasingly easier to lie about dice rolls because they prolly wouldn't take the time to roll the dice amount then pick up there laptop/ computer and show the talespinner then go back to playing the game. like i said... the event of dishonesty my never occure but we should put out the information of its possiblility more for the talespinner's saftey.

That fills me with ideas I'll never see come into fruition. Maybe I'll get bored and not to busy and come up with a solution to that problem. But I'm pretty sure the K-Dice is for use in online games where you wouldn't be able to see each other's dice anyway.
...Damn it, now I can't stop thinking about this idea I have for a KDice that everyone can see. Way to go, guys. (^_^)

Okay, couple of quick things to say about this that have changed since the last post. I've made Online KDice, an online version of the KDice program along with an easy-to-use admin interface to see all the rolls that have been made since the last time the list of rolls was cleared. This program has its own thread dedicated to it someplace. Here's the URL if you haven't yet checked it out: kalarsys.exofire.net/kdice.html"Why is this on the Exofire.net server and not Cogia.net?" you ask. Well, I wrote it in Python and Cogia.net doesn't have Python installed on it. Also, the Exofire.net site doesn't have any ads on it, which is nice. (I'll have to get around to actually updating the news on the front pages, now that I think of it.) Possibly something of more worth is my recent foray into wxWidgets. It is a toolset used for graphical interface programming. Here's a quick way to explain what that is. Every other program I've put up on the Kalarsys website has been a console program. It runs in a DOS-looking window. No buttons, checkboxes, no pictures. Just you, your keyboard, and a cold, spine-chilling black box of white text. Contrast that with a graphical user interface program, or GUI program. When someone says "windows", this is what they're talking about. There's a menu bar at the top and a status bar at the bottom. There are buttons and menus and toggles. Soon, I want to create GUI versions of NPCGen and KDice. It shouldn't be too hard besides coming up with an easy-to-understand interface for using them. I've been working tirelessly with wxWidgets, getting it to actually fucking work with CodeBlocks (my programming program) on both Windows and Linux and then figuring out how to use the damn thing. wxWidgets itself is very good and widely used (Audacity and UnrealEd for UT3 are two good examples we all know). I have almost everything I need to know either figured out or have found documents to help me figure it out soon. Maybe this announcement deserves its own thread, but I'm lazy. :-p
